This is the first antigen test for qualitative detection, in vaginal swab samples, of Gardnerella vaginalis, Candida albicans and Trichomonas vaginalis, the main causative agents of the most common types of vaginitis.
Infectious vaginitis can be produced due to the infection caused by different agents, presenting characteristic symptomatological pictures, but at the same time very overlapping with each other. This entails, in clinical practice, greater difficulty in identifying the aetiological agent(s) and the triggering factors of the infection, and therefore, the choice of treatment.
With the FEMyTest vaginitis test, using a sample of vaginal mucus collected in the consulting room, a differential diagnosis will be obtained in just 15 minutes that allows mixed infections caused by the agents described to be detected.
